Sticky Postings
Well, you guessed it, I’m Onslow and this is my blog. I have a lot of stories to share with you about me and my friends, many of whom I have yet to meet. I had a rough start in life, being abandoned as a kitten 7 years ago, but everything is good in my life now. So far my most memorable time was the day that I spent at the beach. I learned to walk on a leash soon after I found my new home. Had I known how walking on a leash would change my life, I don’t think that I would do it again. I have to go everywhere now, including the beach. Worlds largest litter box – what more can I say? Woo Hoo!

Happy Cat Tip of The Day: Buy a handful of peacock feathers and attach them to the end of a flexible pole. Feathers are usually too much of a temptation to resist. In no time, your feline friend will be running, jumping, and performing amazing body twists and turns to snag those moving feathers!

Driving along 427 in Osteen one evening, we came across a small gray and white kitten standing alongside the road. In the blink of an eye he ran to the center of the 55mph two-lane road and froze, cars swerving to avoid hitting him. We brought our car to an abrupt stop, got out, and scooped him out of the roadway. Seconds later, three more kittens came running out from under a nearby bush. All four of the kittens were obliviously starving, and probably on the search for something to eat. We brought the four kittens home and isolated them in a bathroom where we could clean them up, feed them, and care for them until they could be tested for FIP. The first night they ate an entire large bowl of food, and slept well…but something was not right about the way Oliver (the first gray and white kitten to run into the road) was breathing. First thing in the morning, Oliver was taken to see our Veterinarian. Oliver was diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) and died within three days of his rescue. He was 7 weeks old. As of today, only Marshall (the gray and white kitten in the photo) is showing the beginning signs (a slight “light bulb shape”) of the wet form of FIP, but otherwise he behaves like any other 8-week-old kitten, wrestling and playing with his two siblings (when he is not sleeping or eating). We are determined to allow the trio to live out their life’s to the fullest extent filled with lots of playtime, catnip, food, a lap to sit on, and most important, a loving home. If you would like to help us with the cost of care for the remaining three kittens, Olivia, Olympia, and Marshall, please send a check to PO Box 390671 Deltona, FL 32738, or use the Donate button below. Our efforts to rescue and find homes for wayward cats and kittens will continue. We are not a non-profit organization a nd your contribution is not tax deductible, but you will have our gratitude, and the kittens thank you from the bottom of their hearts.
